MaDIH, a digital innovation hub to promote the adoption of technologies in Madrid's industrial sector

Coordinated by AECIM / MCA and supported by FI Group, in November 13th the Expression of Interest was presented to the Ministry of Industry MaDIH, (Manufacturing Digital Innovation Hub) as a collaborative, cross-cutting and multisectoral HUB model, with a clear business vocation that will promote the adoption of digital technologies within the industrial sector.
The project was born with the aim of promoting digital transformation between the industrial production fabric of Madrid. In addition, it focuses on the drive of Industry 4.0 and smart and green manufacturing through various technologies: artificial intelligence and cognitive systems, simulation and modeling, additive manufacturing (3D printing) and big data. Following its presentation to the Ministry, MaDIH is intended to be recognized by the European Union as one of its centres of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) and thereby foster a regional industrial ecosystem that promotes industrial policies of digitization and productive transformation.
Partner fabric consists of tractor companies (IVECO), associative business entities; these include the Madrid Metal Companies Association (AECIM), Madrid Automotive Cluster (MCA), Aerospace Cluster of the Community of Madrid (MAC), NEOBIS Association of Graphic Communication and the Business Association of Food Industries of the Community of Madrid (ASEACAM); digital enablers (Bosch Spain and IMDEA Networks), scientific-technical organizations such as IMDEA Energy, the University of Nebrija and the University Institute of Automotive Research of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM-INSIA); financing and innovation organizations (Fi Group) and business accelerators and innovation (Wayra - Telefonica).
MaDIH will have, among others, the following objectives:
· Digitization of the SMEs.
· Creation of a Madrid industrial ecosystem.
· Provision of technological services.
· Advice and fundraising and funding management.
· Startup acceleration services.
· Training and mentoring.
· Development of collaborative projects between large companies and SMEs
